Event photography, hand-painted signs, pencil-to-vector conversions, proofreading, short documentary videos, photo restoration, greeting cards, and even party planning: where there’s creativity involved, I’m keen! In freelancing I am able to maintain variety in the breadth of my experience.

Graphic Design Specialist – Sonic Boom Wellness
September 2012 – July 2015
Customized and generated print and web-ready graphic design including internet advertisements, posters, flyers, apparel, user guides, packaging, identity materials, PowerPoint slides, and tutorial videos. Assisted with concept development for all manner of graphics-related projects as such. Served as in-house photographer and videographer. All Adobe design programs and Microsoft Word utilized on a daily basis.

Graphic Designer & Assistant to the Dean – Platt College
September 2011 – July 2013
Consistent with the college branding, I designed a wide range of printed materials, such as catalogs, invites, posters, postcards, labels, bookmarks, student ID’s, etc., while assisting the Dean with research, marketing, and event planning. Primarily used Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator. Served as photographer for many of the events, the pictures from which I edited and uploaded to the Dean’s private WordPress blog.

Social Media Marketer – JD Property Management
November 2011 – September 2012
Managed all social media accounts (Yelp, LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, etc.). Designed monthly mailblasts. Regularly improved the payment and application methods for clients and the usability of the company website. Designed the logo.

Graphic Design Intern – El Cajon Print & Class A Trophies
April 2011 – September 2011
Assisted the design department with all print services ranging from business cards, stickers, carbonless forms, postcards, vector logos, banners, and engraving. All Adobe programs utilized on a daily basis. Successfully built the company’s 7-page website using Dreamweaver and personally photographed all showcase products for it.  Permanent employment offered at end of fixed term.

Assisted the licensing department by researching and reporting trends, potential licensees, and website taxonomy. Contributed to the workflow between all departments by organizing data via Adobe applications, mainly Acrobat and InDesign, and fulfilled general clerical duties.

Front-End Manager – Michaels Arts & Crafts
November 2009 – February 2011
Experience further obtained in retail management, including supervision of a staff body of 4 or more, and visual merchandising: the planning, promotion, and display of sales and products. Occasionally served as an instructor for craft classes. Became familiarized with the professional framing process.

Photographer/Coordinator – YMCA Camp Marston
May 2008 – August 2008 (fixed term)
Photographed children and staff on a full-time basis and maintained the website to which the photos were posted and sold. Earned the title of the highest grossing photographer for the institution. Photoshop was readily used for editing as well as for creating promotional signage and contact booklets. Organized weekly multimedia presentations as well.

District Manager – Absolutely Fabulous Gifts
September 2006 – April 2008
Alongside all aspects of staff supervision, marketing and merchandising were heavily practiced. The methods of demographic research, product purchasing, pricing, and display, and especially in-house advertising design, were learned and refined. This position was, by far, the most educational and inspiring for a graphic design career.

May 2006 – August 2008
Operated Fuji Frontier and Agfa photo developing labs where understanding of printing processes continued to develop. Designed promotional posters, mail adverts, and sale signs with Photoshop.

Supervisor/Lab Operator – Sav-On Drugs (now CVS)

Supervised staff and operated Gretag and Noritsu photo developing labs where knowledge of color correcting, chemical processes, printing formats and materials, and digital photographic technologies were first acquired.
